Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme in France was born the 9th of August in 1976. Audrey is the oldest child in a family of four. Audrey Tautou's parents, who were a dentist and teacher in a school, supported and encouraged her passion for acting and theatre. Her initial dream of becoming a specialist in monkeys was replaced by a desire to learn about drama and theater. As a young woman the rise to fame was quick and accompanied by early recognition and success. Before she began to pursue the acting profession, she participated in Jeunes Premiers which was a French show on TV that focuses on talent sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. She also won The award for the Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Although she studied at The Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou is now averse to the Catholic tradition, saying that she is not officially Catholic. In addition to her acting career, she pursued a modeling career. She is also the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Photography is another hobby and she has recently displayed her work at the Arles festival, under the title Superficial. Through her photography, she concentrates on fame and the spotlight. Cameras are focused towards journalists who scrutinized her during her rise to fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou's debut part, playing Amelie Poulain's leading actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie, landed her international stardom. Amelie received international acclai the box office and was recognized at award ceremonies across the globe. It's the most-grossing French film in America. Later, in the same year, she starred in British dramas including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Junet's The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
